Becker Contracting was started in 1983 as a construction company by Robert J. Becker. In the fall of 1984, Robert G. Becker, Robert J.’s father, joined the company and the corporation was formed that November. Although Becker Contracting was originally started as an interior construction and demolition company, it soon began to focus on strictly demolition as the competition with other interior finish companies was substantial. There have been many long standing relationships with previous competitors who were in need of a company that provided demolition and removal.

“Becker the Wrecker”, a nickname coined by a long time customer over 33 years ago, became a familiar phrase and is still what Robert J. Becker is known as in the business today.

Robert G. Becker continued to work for Becker Contracting for 7 years and retired in 1991. Cindy Lehman came to Becker Contracting in the spring of 2013 as the Office Manager after the retirement of Kathie Schrick who had been with the company for 26 years. Soon after, in 2014, Brian Daniels joined the company as Project Manager and now serves as President of Becker Contracting.
